Ladies, write your real stories.

The holidays edition.

Who are you?

You’re deeply curious, creative, and kind.

You love stories and words. You’re an avid reader.

You're a late-in-life diagnosed-with-ADHD woman. Or you suspect you might be.

I created this for you.

You’ve had a difficult time following typical paths because doing something without understanding why makes you anxious. Your mind needs to discover and understand.

You’ve either in perimenopause, waiting for the day you can say you've hit menopause, or post-menopausal. (So, GenX, generally, although you don't really love labels.)

I'm Shauna James Ahern.

I’m a 5-books-published writer, James-Beard award-winning author, and a deeply experienced writing teacher.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 55, so I'm rewriting the stories of who I believe I am.

I've been writing stories as long as I could hold a pen. I keep my eyes open for glimmers of joy. And every day I move my pen forward, capturing the beautiful mess of life.

I guide women who feel not good enough in their lives to create a 15-minute daily habit of writing their stories, to discover their voices and trust themselves.

The details of your life matter.

Your stories matter.

Here's how this mindful writing workshop will work:

  • I'll hold the space for us to gather, in an inclusive, kind space.
  • I'll guide us through the mindful writing method that I use to write every piece I have published.
  • I'll give you a specific writing prompt.
  • We will write together for 15 minutes, mindfully.
  • We won’t worry about being good.
  • Instead, we will trust the images and words that arise and follow them, listening to the sounds and trusting our bodies.
  • And then, whoever wants to share will read her wild and mindful piece of writing.
  • As a group, we will give feedback on what connected with us.
  • We’ll hold space to listen to every woman who wants to read, in the time available to us.
  • And then I’ll share tips for creating this 15-minute daily writing habit for yourself.

You don’t want to miss out on this workshop,

which only costs $47.

"That prompt that Shauna sent was the answer to the stress of my week. I thought I wanted to write about one event but the image was of another. I wrote and I drew. I didn’t realize how badly I needed to get everything out of my head. Every word let me relax and when the time went off, my exhale was slow and steady and all the tension was gone. Thank you."
